I’ve been so busy (I’m writing three books at once because my brain is broken) and I’m about to get busier as October moves in. I’ve got a bunch of events in October and November so make sure you’re following me on Threads and Instagram or checking my events page here to stay up to date on where I will be. I do not use Facebook or Twitter anymore, although I have left my profiles in place. Don’t look there for updates! Updates will be on Threads, Instagram or here.

I recently had a short story, “Silver & Gold”, published in Titan Books anthology LAND OF OZ. I wrote a little crime story about a couple of Depression-era grifters who bear a strong resemblance to some Wicked Witches you may know. I laced the story with a ton of little Easter egg referencing Baum’s original tale, so I hope you enjoy this one.

My next novel, PINFEATHERS, releases on November 17th and I’m so excited for all of you to read it. If you would like a signed copy but can’t make it to any of my events you can preorder from my local shop, Three Avenues Bookshop, here. I will also sign and personalize any title from my backlist – just get in touch with Three Avenues at 773-697-4697 and let them know what you’re looking for. Keep in mind that it might take a little time to order in titles not in stock.

Information on PINFEATHERS:

A tense, gripping novel about a mother whose child begins to change in ways she can’t explain, from the national bestselling author of The Place Where They Buried Your Heart.

Nora Pacetti is a new stay-at-home mother–she’s tired but coping while caring for her happy, healthy baby, Olivia. But then one morning, something that looks like a feather starts growing out of Olivia’s arm. Or at least, that’s what Nora’s mother, Giulia, thinks. Nora thinks her mother has probably spent too much time watching conspiracy videos on YouTube.

Nora’s husband thinks Olivia needs tests, specialists, hospitals. But Nora senses that whatever is happening to her daughter needs to be concealed–and a mother’s intuition is never wrong. Soon sinister people begin asking questions about Olivia, and Nora starts to wonder if there really is something wrong with her baby. But she’s determined to discover the truth about her daughter . . . no matter the cost.
